Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms carefully before using the software or service operated by Avatrip.

Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned upon your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms and Conditions. These Terms apply to all users and others who wish to access or use the Service. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. 

Avatrip offers an on-site video call matching service that connects local streamers from around the world with callers who want to visit the local.
On-site video calling at the reserved spot is called a “Live Virtual Trip”.
Video callers who pay for a live virtual trip are called “Master.”
Local streamers instructed by video callers are called “Avatar.”

  1. NO ACCESS TO EMERGENCY SERVICES: The Software is not for emergency calls and emergency services. The Software is available only where local video streaming is legally and technically allowed.
  2. SAFETY FIRST: Master should prioritize Avatar’s safety. Avatar also needs to monitor one’s safety.
  3. LEGALITY: The Software must be used for activities that are legal where Avatar operates. We strictly ban illegal activities such as abusive language, stalking, or invasion of privacy while on-site video calling.  
  4. NO PHYSICAL SERVICE: The Software bans Avatar to do any physical services such as making deliveries, helping locals, or operating switches of buildings, local equipment to avoid accidents and crimes. The Software allows Avatar only to support on-site video calling as video streaming the required spot and communicating with locals.
  5. REFUSAL RIGHT: Avatar has the right to refuse unsafe, illegal, or improper instructions and serious physical services while using the Software.
  6. TRIP COIN: We use Trip Coin: TRON(TRX)-based cryptocurrency to send and receive money. One Trip Coin is pegged at 1 USD.
  7. WALLET: When a user creates an Avatrip account, our system automatically creates the user’s digital wallet charged by PayPal or cryptocurrency such as Tron (TRX), Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), or Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
  8. INITIAL DEPOSIT: Master needs to hold an initial deposit of 10~25 USD worth of Trip Coin by the country of on-site video call while processing live virtual trips.
  9. REFUND: Master can refund unused Trip Coin in an initial deposit to one’s wallet, if not in the process of a live virtual trip.
  10. WITHDRAW: To withdraw cash from the digital wallet, users need accounts with Paypal or crypto exchanges such as Binance, Upbit, etc.
  11. FARE SYSTEM: The fare system combines a basic rate and a time-based rate, just like a taxi fare system. The basic rate is charged when the video call starts. The time-based rate is charged per minute during video calling.
  12. SERVICE FEE: Avatrip deducts 10% of all fare payments and cancellation fees as service fees to operate a live virtual trip platform.  
  13. PAYMENT: Thirty minutes after a live virtual trip ends, the charged trip fare (basic rate + per-minute rate) is automatically sent from Master’s initial deposit to Avatar’s wallet after a 10% service fee deduction.
  14. PAYMENT ERROR: If a user thinks that a trip fare is paid in error, they can contact info@avatrip.net within one week of the suspicious payment. No further review is allowed after one week of payment.
  15. RATING: After payment is complete, users can rate the service quality of the opposite into 5 ratings and short comments.
  16. CANCELLATION FEE: When Master cancels a reserved virtual trip, Master pays a cancellation fee to Avatar according to the following criteria. Avatar pays no cancellation fee.
  • Cancel more than 24 hours before the trip start time – no cancellation fee
  • Cancel 24 to 2 hours before the trip start time – basic rate
  • Cancel less than 2 hours before the trip start time – 30 minute fare 
  • Cancel after the trip start time – One hour fare

          17. COMPLAINT: If a reserved virtual trip fails by a human or technical error other than cancellation, users can complain to appeal the fare paid by the criteria.                       

  • Poor connection: complain within 10 minutes of the trip start time.   
  • Not answering video calls: complain within 30 minutes of the trip start time.       
  • Improper or illegal instruction / Non-cooperation / Wrong place in the trip start time / Poor language skill / Equipment issues such as no phone battery: complain within 30 minutes of video call termination.
  • Any complaint instantly holds the fare payment for up to 48 hours. We first review both sides’ claims and the video call time record. Then we decide whether to pay the charged fare and notify users of the result by email within 48 hours. After the review ends, no further complaints on the same case are accepted.
  • If Avatar proves one’s presence at the reserved trip spot and time by a selfie, Avatar takes advantage of the related complaint cases. Other complaints are accepted when the opposite user admits mistakes or the problems of the complaint are proven.
  1. RESPONSIBILITY: Users agree that Avatrip is not responsible for the success or failure of each live virtual trip, accidents, or legal issues during live virtual trips, which are mutually agreed upon by the master and avatar. Users agree that fares and cancellation fees handled by the terms are not subject to legal action. 
  2. LANGUAGE: Master select a preferred language during the live virtual trip. Avatar needs the selected language skills.
  3. EQUIPMENT: Avatar should prepare basic equipment such as a fully charged smartphone and wireless internet. Master may request additional equipment such as a gimbal, selfie stick, headphones, etc., but Avatar is not necessarily required to provide that.
  4. DRESS CODE: Master may request Avatar’s dress code to fit the live virtual trip. Avatar is not necessarily required to provide that.
  5. CODE OF MASTER                                                                                   
  • Master must be ready for the video connection at the scheduled trip start time. 
  • Master should instruct Avatar within the bounds of local laws and Avatar’s safety. 
  • Master takes legal responsibility for one’s behavior where Avatar operates.
  • Master must protect any personal information of Avatar obtained during the live virtual trip. Illegal leakage and abuse of personal information can be legally punished.                       
  • Master should not personally contact Avatar outside of Avatrip service. 
  • Master accepts that even paid virtual trips may not work out because of unforeseen events.                                                             
  • Master must not falsify one’s identity.
  1. CODE OF AVATAR                                                                                    
  • Avatar must be ready for the video connection at the reserved spot and time. 
  • Avatar should follow Master’s instructions for local streaming within the bounds of local laws and safety.     
  • Avatar should stabilize their video call devices as much as possible.
  • Avatar must protect any private information obtained during the live virtual trip. Illegal leakage and abuse of information can be legally punished.                               
  • Avatar should not personally contact Master outside of Avatrip service.
  • Avatar accepts that reserved live virtual trip may not work out because of unforeseen events.
  • Avatar accepts that fare earnings can be affected by exchange rates and cryptocurrency transaction fees.
  • Avatar must not falsify one’s identity.
  1. RECONNECTION: If the video call is disconnected during the live virtual trip, users must reconnect within one minute. If a video call disconnection lasts for more than one minute or the app is down, the live virtual trip is automatically terminated.
  2. PRIVACY & PERSONAL INFORMATION: Avatrip is committed to protecting users’ privacy and personal information. Master accepts that ID card call mode is to reveal one’s personal information to Avatar and other locals.
